Pugnacious Records is thrilled to announce the signing of Sean Riley & The Water. Stone Cold Hands will be Riley's 1st LP and The label’s 2nd release scheduled for a March 8th, 2024 street date.

The full length album features nine original songs by Sean Riley all showcasing his distinctive voice, lyrics, guitar style and arrangements. The lone cover song is Jimmy Reed’s High And Lonesome.

An ode to the city of New Orleans and southern roots music, Stone Cold Hands oscillates between groovy boogie blues and swampy back porch get-downs. The songs touch upon themes of deep loss, lasting regret, and the anxious reeling from a world gone dark, yet retains an upbeat and positive push.

The LP features some of Louisiana’s most lauded musicians. Multi-instrumentalist and practitioner of zydeco and Afro-Louisiana music, Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes plays both accordion and harmonica on four tracks. Cajun musician and “Louisiana’s Rockin’ Fiddler” Waylon Thibodeaux shines on two numbers. Tiffany Pollack graces the album with her sweet harmonies. And, the record’s thumping rhythm section consists of New Orleans’ drummer Mike Barras and Dean Zucchero, who acts as both bassist and producer of the album.

Based in New Orleans, Riley is a familiar face in the local music scene. Playing frequently throughout the city, from the Bywater to the French Quarter and Uptown, as well as regional shows in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Riley also tours extensively in Europe and Australia.
